Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant
Position Summary:
The bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant performs a variety of bookkeeping and administrative duties to support the church office. This is a full-time position with both bookkeeping and administrative responsibilities include managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and assisting church office daily operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of two years’ experience in administrative and bookkeeping.
Demonstrate a high level of trust and confidentiality (Maintain confidentiality in a spiritually mature manner).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace.
Working knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
Must be a self-starter, strong ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, a team player.
Responsibilities and duties:
Provides clerical and administrative assistance to the church office.
Provide general office support
General record keeping as assigned
Effective, timely communication and follow-up with church members’ request
Maintain office and church supplies
Answer phone calls and front desk receptionist
Preparing and printing weekly bulletin, prayer guide
Processing invoices, Payments and other financial transactions
Maintaining a general ledger and other financial records
Preparing monthly financial reports for church leadership and committees
Providing financial information to the Finance Chair
Assist with bank record inquiries
Reporting: Accountable to the Church Board through the Senior Pastor/Office Manager
