Blood Bank Laboratory Technician
We are seeking a skilled and responsible Blood Bank Technician to join our laboratory team focused on the production of human platelet lysate (hPL) from expired platelet units. This role is ideal for a technician with blood banking experience who is looking to contribute to research and regenerative medicine by utilizing otherwise discarded biological materials in a high-quality, GMP-compliant setting.
Key Responsibilities
Receive, inspect, and log expired Platelet Concentrate (PC) and Fresh Frozen Plasma (FFP) units from certified blood banks.
Prepare human platelet lysate from expired platelet units according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Perform quality control checks, including sterility screening, pH assessment, turbidity evaluation, and contamination assessment.
Operate centrifuges, freezers, plasma extractors, and related laboratory equipment safely and efficiently.
Handle biological material safely and ensure traceability of all processed batches.
Maintain cleanroom hygiene and aseptic processing standards at all times.
Document every step in compliance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and/or Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
Assist with storage, labeling, inventory, and batch release processes as needed.
Coordinate with the quality assurance team for batch review and audit readiness.
