Location: Mamawmatawa Holistic Education Centre
Start Date: September 2025 - New School Year 2025-2026
Constance Lake Education Authority is seeking a Behaviour Intervention Worker at the Mamawmatawa Holistic Education Centre, a facility providing community-based education from Early Childhood to Grade 12 learners.
Location: Elementary (Jk-Gr. 8)
OVERVIEW:
Under the direction of the Special Education Resource teacher, the Behavior Intervention worker works collaboratively with the student’s educational team and parents / guardians to develop and implement intervention strategies (positive behavior supports) for the classroom and within the school environment that allows the student to integrate behaviourally into the school setting successfully.
Qualifications Skills:
· Diploma in Social Work or equivalent
· Ability to write letters, reports, funding proposals and other correspondence.
· Implement and model social skill development techniques, including social stories, peer facilitation, and peer training for the purpose of assisting in achieving academic, social, emotional and behavioral goals.
· Implement behavioral plans designed by the Special Education Team for students with behavior disorders or other special conditions for the purpose of assisting in meeting students’ needs and providing a positive and consistent learning environment.
· Assist in the preparation and adaptation of instructional materials for the purpose of providing activities and materials that facilitate student learning and performance.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Ability to adapt to a variety of situations and to remain calm under stress.
· Ability to maintain and promote confidentiality
