Bartender
POSITION PURPOSE: We are seeking a hospitality focused and organized individual to join our team as a bartender. Is responsible for crafting exquisite cocktails, providing exceptional beverage service, and enhancing the overall dining experience. They possess advanced mixology skills, deep knowledge of spirits and wines, and impeccable guest service abilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Provide personalized attention to guests, engaging in conversation, and offering attentive service throughout their dining experience.
Anticipate guests' needs and preferences, offering timely refills, menu suggestions, and assistance with beverage choices.
Enhance guest satisfaction by delivering memorable experiences and exceeding expectations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including proper storage of liquor, glassware, and bar tools.
Adhere to established recipes, portion control guidelines, and quality standards for beverage preparation.
Monitor inventory levels, conduct stock replenishment, and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Educate guests about cocktail ingredients, flavor profiles, and mixology techniques.
Share knowledge about wine regions, grape varietals, and wine-making processes to enrich guests' dining experiences.
Offer tasting flights, wine pairings, or beverage seminars to further engage and educate guests upon request.
Ensure compliance with alcohol service laws, regulations, and responsible drinking practices.
Monitor guest intoxication levels and intervene appropriately to prevent overconsumption.
Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment, following sanitation protocols and food safety guidelines.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPIERENCE AND SKILLS
A high school diploma or equivalent preferred. Additional training or certification in bartending, mixology, or sommelier studies.
Previous experience as a bartender in fine dining restaurants or upscale bars.
Extensive knowledge of mixology, cocktail crafting techniques, and classic drink recipes.
Deep understanding of wines, varietals, regions, and wine service etiquette.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage guests and build rapport.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering impeccable service with elegance and flair.
TIPS certification or equivalent training in responsible alcohol service is preferred.
Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
Ability to move swiftly and efficiently behind the bar area to prepare and serve beverages.
Maneuvering through tight spaces and around other staff members with grace and agility.
Standing for extended periods, often throughout the duration of a shift.
Capability to lift and carry bottles, cases, and crates of various sizes and weights (e.g., liquor bottles, wine cases) for restocking the bar.
Transporting trays of glassware, garnishes, and other bar supplies to and from the service area with care.
Precise use of hands and fingers for tasks such as pouring drinks, muddling ingredients, and garnishing cocktails.
Operating bar equipment and tools, such as shakers, strainers, jiggers, and bottle openers, with dexterity and accuracy.
Clear and articulate speech for communicating with guests, colleagues, and service staff.
Active listening skills to understand guest preferences, address inquiries, and respond to feedback effectively.
Comfort wearing a designated uniform or attire required by the establishment, including appropriate footwear for long periods of standing and walking.
Maintaining a polished appearance and adhering to grooming standards set by the employer.
