AZ Tech Driver
Your number one priority is safety. You are responsible for transporting material in a safe and efficient manner. Throughout the course of completing your duties, you are an ambassador of Walker Environmental-Gro-Bark and, as such, you must uphold and maintain a positive impression representing the company values while interacting with customers, coworkers, and the general public. You will operate a truck and trailer to move material between our sites and the sites of our customers and suppliers. Deliveries may be a mix of long and short hauls in Ontario and Quebec and may require being away from home overnight.
What You’ll Be Doing
Comply with all Walker Health and Safety policies
Comply with all MTO laws and the Highway Traffic Act
Operate equipment in a safe and courteous manner
Maximize yardage according to the payload of truck and trailer
Use weight scales or load scanner at all sites, if so equipped
Maintain communication with dispatch team
Ensure the proper use of equipment and report maintenance issues as they arise
Complete paperwork, including Log Books, accurately and in a timely manner
Here’s What You Need
Valid Ontario Class A driver’s license with a Z endorsement
Clean driver’s abstract
Knowledge of MTO rules and regulations
Fluent in English (verbal and written)
High-school or equivalent
Positive attitude and able to work independently
