Associate Legal Counsel
Our client, a global IT services company is seeking to hire a mid-level senior legal professional within 4-6 years of experience in international litigation/dispute.
Roles Responsibilities:
• Respond to dispute and pre-dispute demand letters, advising business teams on best practices for dispute resolution.
• Analyze case files, contracts, and evidence to develop litigation strategies and prepare legal responses, conduct interviews, gather documents, and coordinate depositions, hearings, trials, and meetings.
• Summarize discussions, set action items, and ensure follow-through to resolution.
• Oversee eDiscovery policies and maintain case management databases.
• Manage all litigation aspects, including fact investigation, drafting legal responses, responding to subpoenas, witness preparation, and settlement negotiations.
• Perform in-house legal work and manage outside counsel, ensuring compliance with guidelines and controlling costs.
• Identify, review, analyze, and resolve pre-disputes while implementing and enforcing company policies.
• Draft succinct, practical legal advice and handle complex legal matters independently.
Experience and Skills:
• Law graduate with 5-6 years of experience, including at least 3 years in litigation and 1 year in-house (preferably in IT services).
• US, Canadian, or UK litigation experience is preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Detail-oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Comfortable working in uncertain environments and collaborating with diverse teams.
• LLM from the US or Canada is a plus.
