Senior Database Administration
The Senior Database Admin job collaborates with data architects and information systems managers to develop an understanding of data and information needs, identify solutions and enhance the quality of service while maintaining the organization's database systems. Working under limited supervision, this job maintains the integrity and performance of the organization's databases and ensures the data is stored accessibly, efficiently and securely. This job also monitors the development, implementation, and administration of databases including back-up, performance tuning, capacity planning and reviewing critical events and documentation.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Designs and manages various databases and supports in systems capacity planning.
• Coaches and delegates work to lower level professionals to ensure high-quality and timely completion of projects.
• Maintains database systems and troubleshoots complex problems that may arise in a timely manner.
• Develops and refine strategies and implement solutions for managing back-ups, restoration and replication.
• Installs, designs and maintains database system software and implements database security.
• Monitors and analyzes database performance and ensure effective and efficient utilization of database systems/processes.
• Participates in the development and maintenance of strategic, architectural, and tactical plans for the database environments.
• Maintains database dictionaries, support tools, and accurate systems documentation.
• Consults with system analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems and to determine project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, systems performance standards, and interfaces.
• Ensures database is adequately backed up and able to be recovered in the event of data memory or records loss.

Position Summary: Describe below the primary purpose and function of this job

SQL Server Database Administrators are responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of critical SQL Server RDBMS systems. Their main goal is to ensure the availability and consistent performance of various corporate applications.

Must Have:
• 3+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience required.
• Should have worked on MSSQL 2014 to MSSQL 2024 versions.
• Experience of Database Migration in- place , side by side and from on-prem to cloud.
• Experience on SSRS , SSIS, SSAS services and Migration of the Services to higher version and on different servers.
• Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
• Excellent knowledge and experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server, Like Always on Cluster and Always on groups.
• Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Flexible, team player, get-it-done personality.

Good to Have:
• Experience on other technologies like Oracle / Mongo dB / Snowflake .
• Ability to organize and plan work independently.
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
• Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams
• Microsoft’s certifications and cloud Certification.

Key Duties Responsibilities: List up to 5 key duties and responsibilities, management responsibilities and time spent (if applicable)
• Manage SQL Server databases operations as primary along with any other technology (Oracle/ mongo DB/ snowflake ) database operations as Secondary.
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes.
• Monitor system's health and performance.
• Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security.
• Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time.
• Provide suggestions for solutions.
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes.
• Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement.
• Provide support for critical production systems as per the working shift define.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours.
