Senior Cloud Engineer IN
The Senior cloud engineer is responsible for maintaining information systems that are appropriate for users' needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information system. While supporting operational plans, this job is responsible for the installation and maintenance of the organization's systems.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Supports maintenance of system scope through testing and certifying moderately complex information systems. Approves changes to existing system logic and documentations as necessary.
• Provides BAU manuals for existing systems and supports the technical direction to information technology (IT) as provided by architecture and engineering function. Oversees the maintenance of technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.
• Authorizes and approves corrections on all system constraints, implications and consequences of various proposed system changes. Establish, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.

Job Description Summary:

This role will be on the cloud engineering team and will provide cloud solutions support, solution design, development, and engineering for the TIAA (Teachers Insurance and Annuity) Public Cloud (TPC). This is a hands-on engineering and implementation role leveraging Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and other cloud technologies across our enterprise. This team works with both the service providers, not limited to CSP’s and other internal business units to provide engineering services. Products and/or services you may work with are AWS (Amazon Web Services) Native Services, Python, Git, Terraform, Splunk, and Windows.

Key Responsibilities Duties:
• Drive further operationalization of existing services and offerings and operationalize new services for consumption. This includes the monitoring, logging, automating, integrating, and documenting of our core platform services.
• Remediate or assist in the remediation of platform alerts, incidents, or issues.
• Participate in an on-call escalation rotation
• Provide support directly to internal stakeholders throughout the enterprise to enable available application solutions that leverage AWS services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to evolve AWS strategies, project limitations, capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
• Provide technical support and solutions to internal stakeholders through the ability to analyze, troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems across multiple technical disciplines.
• Provide in-depth software development knowledge with respect to cloud architecture, design patterns and programming.
• Advise and implement AWS best practices.
• Manage and own all customer migration and on-boarding projects and hands-offs with other internal departments.
• Integrate current technical systems and develop a plan for future systems.
• Assist with estimating work efforts required for each phase of a project.
• Identify and raise technical risks.

Requirements:

Required:
• Experience in operating, supporting and/or deploying infrastructure to public cloud platforms

Preferred:
• Bachelor’s degree
• Five (5) years’ experience delivering IT (Information Technology) projects to a medium/large enterprise.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience with AWS and/or other cloud providers
• Experience working with Windows and Linux Operating System
• Demonstrated technical expertise in their field, including experience deploying one or more large-scale cloud-based systems.
• Knowledge of current cloud architecture, best practices, tools, and frameworks as well as emerging technologies, trends, and processes
• Automation experience that includes Python and some Infrastructure as Code languages
• Experience using automation and CI/CD tools such as cloud formation, terraform, puppet, ansible, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub, Git, Maven, Docker, etc.
• Ability to communicate with a broad range of audiences.
• AWS Professional/Associate Certification
• Experience with other cloud providers such as GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and/or Azure
• Experience working in an agile environment.
• Real-world implementation experience of CI/CD, Automation, and cloud-native services
• An understanding of ITIL practices and procedures as it relates to the cloud.
