Position Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Assistant Designer specializing in hand embroidery to join us. The ideal candidate will work closely with our design team and international clients across Europe and the Middle East to translate creative concepts into exquisite hand-embroidered garments that meet our high standards of craftsmanship and aesthetic excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Collaborate directly with clients from Europe and the Middle East to understand their design vision and requirements
• Assist in developing seasonal concepts, mood boards, and color stories aligned with client brand aesthetics
• Create detailed technical sketches and design specifications for hand embroidery applications
• Develop embroidery motifs and patterns that showcase our artisanal expertise
• Translate client feedback into design modifications and improvements
• Prepare and present design concepts and samples during client meetings
• Work closely with the merchandising team to ensure design feasibility within material constraints
• Assist in creating artisanal embroidery techniques that combine traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design
• Document and archive embroidery techniques and design solutions
• Stay current on fashion trends, with particular focus on European and Middle Eastern markets
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related creative field
• 3+ years of experience in fashion design, preferably with focus on embellishment or embroidery
• Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity and technical skills in embroidery design
• Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) and hand sketching
• Knowledge of fabric properties and how they interact with various embroidery techniques
• Understanding of garment construction and production processes• Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate design concepts clearly
• Cultural sensitivity and adaptability when working with international clients
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Willingness to travel occasionally for client meetings and fashion events
• Knowledge of a second language (French, Italian, or Arabic) is a plus
