General Position Summary

This position is responsible for supporting all functions required to manage the buyer’s assigned categories and apparel styles. Responsibilities will include but not limited to assisting the buyer in driving results that meet or exceed the company’s planned financial goals and objectives by partnering with the buyer and planner to develop and execute a merchandise strategy.

Essential Job Functions

PURCHASING

● Assists with the execution and processing of all purchase orders, from entry into the computer system through to

the delivery of the merchandise into the store.

● Assists in the preparation for all merchandise meetings seasonal assortment meetings.

● Executes and processes purchase transactions, problem memos, new product paperwork, and necessary

paperwork in a timely manner.

● Maintains trending reports.

● Responds to emails and resolves merchandising issues on a timely basis.

● Manages merchandise flow; check for new purchases and inventory, floor sets, store merchandise and resolve

any receipt issues with the POS and inventory systems.

● Maintains currently and orderly files, purchase orders, transaction details, information on customers.

● Assists in store mix and promotion discussions.

● Supports Buyer on buying appointments and product viewings.

● Assorts and analyzes sell through of major accounts.

● Manages and participates in processing operations.

● Provides input and makes recommendations to buyers on product assortment.

● Analyzes current trends and communicates to stores regarding their best-selling trends and labels.

● Develops strong knowledge of the customer base by working closely with Buyer.

● Works efficiently and independently and meets deadlines as needed.

● Packaging and distribution of sold items.

● Provides a professional customer service via email, phone and in person with emphasis on strong after sales

service.

● Maintains and controls stocks and inventories.

● Adds new goods onto our retail website.

● Shoots and edits pictures of products for our retail website.

● Registers item information on our retail website.

OTHER MISCELLANEOUS

● Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes.

● Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Management.

● Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace.

● Reports all irregular issues and problems to management for solution.

● Maintains good communication with management, office staff members and outside contacts.

● Complies with all company policies and procedures.

● Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.

Qualifications

Education Work Experience

Previous buyers or buying role preferred.

● High School Diploma; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates / Licenses

● Driver’s License, if required.
