The Role
The HQ 5 BDE Governance position will be accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve complex logistics governance work within an integrated workforce. Ensuring they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
You will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the outcomes of their work. This is achieved by:
Exercising initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures.
Providing detailed logistics governance technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development.
Having considerable level of stakeholder engagement, liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex issues.
Being accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
Briefing Brigade (BDE) Senior leaders on a regular basis.

The ideal candidate is an experienced and mature member who can represent logistics and governance matters at the higher Head Quarter (HQ) level. To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will be:
Accountable to lead a team, allocate work, resources and tasks, set work area priorities, develop strategies and evaluate business outcomes.
Able to complete accurate work within timeframes, share own expertise with others and guide and mentor less experienced employees.
Able to lead, plan and manage assurance checks on logistics procedures and evaluate final products.
Apply expertise in logistics legislation and policy to provide advice on governance matters.
Generate briefs, correspondence and performance reports on logistics governance activities.
Build and sustain relationships and liaise with a range of stakeholders. Work collaboratively with stakeholders and subject matter experts to resolve logistics governance matters.
