Job description
Designer – Kid’s Apparel (off-price)
Onsite 5 days/week NYC
Overview:
The Designer is responsible for creating and developing seasonal apparel collections in collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment with brand strategy, market trends, and business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and apply trends in color, fit, and style to support brand positioning
Create CAD sketches and maintain design files throughout the development process
Prepare and review tech packs to ensure accurate product execution
Maintain awareness of key deadlines and support timely sourcing and development
Attend fittings and provide feedback to uphold design intent
Collaborate with graphic design, sales, merchandising, and production teams
Develop and present seasonal lines and design presentations
Ensure accurate information is communicated across design, sourcing, and production
Approve styles, fabrics, trims, and colors and communicate changes clearly
Support sample tracking, catalog accuracy, and design communication
Manage and mentor junior design staff
Participate in special projects, presentations, and seasonal initiatives
