Job description
JMC Aviation are working with a MRO company based in Manchester, looking to recruit new B2 (Avionic) Mechanics to join their team.

This business is a leading MRO dealing with base maintenance as well as interior modifications and fuel systems repair and maintenance for both commercial and military aircraft. The company has been operating for close to 30 years, providing outstanding customer service and encouraging a warm, positive environment to aid employee progression.

This is a Permanent Position based in Manchester.

Working Monday - Friday, with two options of shift: 7.00- 3.30pm or 3.00- 11.30pm.

The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to install complex wiring harnesses and modifications to existing wiring, within Avionic shelves and panels

Other duties involve:
• Full removal and strip of equipment
• All aspects of electrical and avionics work
• Wiring termination and testing
• Removing and installing of various shelves, panels and equipment
• Loom manufacturing and testing
• Assisting with systems tests

Skills and experience required.

In order to be successful in this role the Avionic Mechanic will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
• Right to live and work in the UK
• Previous experience as an Avionic Mechanic
• Completed an engineering apprenticeship, ideally in aeronautical engineering or military equivalent

ABOUT AIRX JET SUPPORT

AirX Jet Support Limited is a UK registered EASA Part-145 MRO maintaining the fleet of our parent company AirX. We are well versed in the maintenance requirement for aircraft owners and operators. Our approach to all maintenance tasks is underpinned by engineering experience. We aim to ensure that aircraft are returned to service on schedule and the work is finished to the highest standard. AXJS supplies maintenance and related services to AirX and third-party operator aircraft based out of Diamond Hangar at Stansted Airport.

ROLE

As an aircraft mechanic for our company, you will have the opportunity to use your skills on a variety of aircraft, including Embraer 145 and Challenger 604/605/850. Keep our company in tip-top shape as you make repairs and do inspections alongside a skilled team to meet standards of quality within specified deadlines. Utilize your experience and enhance your training to troubleshoot issues on all associated systems on our aircraft.

The Aircraft Mechanic shall be responsible to ensure that the work carried out meets quality standard, and aircraft are safe and airworthy.

Reports to: Hangar Superintendents

Location: Diamond Hangar, Stansted

Hours of Work: 4 on 4 off shift work 7am – 7pm

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Inspect and examine aircraft components, including de-icing systems, hydraulic systems and landing gear, for leaks, cracks, breaks or other issues.
• Perform Base scheduled/unscheduled Maintenance Modifications on customer aircraft.
• Read and utilize blueprints, maintenance manuals and other maintenance documents to troubleshoot and complete work assignments.
• Perform routine maintenance operations, such as the replacement of power plant and aircraft components
• Ensure compliance with all procedures associated with the Base Maintenance.
• Perform hourly, daily and monthly inspections to check for cracks, oil leaks, burned areas, foreign object damage, warping, distortions, missing segments and wear.
• Report any technical issues, discrepancies, or other issues to the Hangar Superintendent/Deputy Base Manager.
• Keep detailed records of the inspections performed, repairs finished, and maintenance procedures.
• Ensure all planned aircraft work is carried out as scheduled and liaise with Hangar Superintendent and Technical Services to maximise our customers’ downtime.
• Complete all tasks in the allotted time frame and to the quality standards of our company, our customers and the CAA.
• Promote safety within the workplace by monitoring others and yourself to guarantee all tasks are performed within the safety manual guidelines.
• Ensure all aircraft paperwork and work packs are completed accurately, within prescribed timescales and in conjunction with the Hangar Superintendent.

The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
You will:
• Have the ability to demonstrate at least 6 months recent experience on Embraer 145 and/or Challenger 604/605/850 (CRJ200).
• experience of working in a fast-paced Line or Base Maintenance environment.
• High level of communication skills, both in verbal and written form and the ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
• Coordinate with the rest of the team to accomplish the daily workload allocated.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including different shift patterns.
• Knowledge of maintenance standards.
• Knowledge and ability to use aircraft maintenance data.
• Initial Human Factors (HF) training.
• Fuel Tank Safety (FTS) training.
• Electrical Wiring Interconnect System (EWIS) training.
• English Language proficiency (Written Spoken

The successful candidate must have eligibility to work in the UK, a full driving licence and their own transport. If you’re successful, you will be required to undertake DBS Security clearance which includes 3 years’ reference checks.
