Qualifications

Deep understanding of St. John's College and its academic program necessary for accurate and persuasive presentation to prospective students, staff management, and representation of the Admissions Office
Minimum of two years of professional experience in admissions, communications, marketing, or a related field
Strong leadership, creative and strategic thinking, motivation to exceed goals, excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure, collaboration, attention to detail, and successful meeting of deadlines essential
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, experience with admissions database management (ideally Slate), and facility with all aspects of social media required
Able to travel independently and perform some night and weekend work
Valid driver's license necessary
Responsibilities
Develop marketing content for various channels, including drip emails, mass emails, event emails, social media, and text messaging, to engage students throughout the admissions process
Create compelling copy for new messages and newsletters, as well as update existing marketing content, to support the Admissions Communications lead
Manage print mailing campaigns for the Admissions office
Design messages and materials to promote upcoming Admissions events
Support the Admissions Communications lead on multiple projects, including profiles describing the college on external websites
Stay up-to-date on effective communications strategies and tools for recruiting students to the college
Collaborate with the Communications Office to develop new content supporting admissions across all platforms
Utilize analytics and surveys to enhance communications content and delivery strategies
Advocate passionately for the strengths of a liberal arts education at St. John's, highlighting the curriculum, classroom experience, campus attributes, extracurricular life, residential life, and future career success
Remain knowledgeable about federal and institutional financial aid policies and procedures
Foster an inclusive environment for prospective students that encourages diversity and inclusion
Collaborate and coordinate with admissions, financial aid, communications, and other colleagues in Annapolis and Santa Fe
Perform administrative tasks to document work and maintain records in a timely manner
Meet deadlines and goals set by leaders in the Admissions Office

Job Title:

The Admissions Counselor for Marketing and Communications serves as a key representative of St. John's College, promoting our two campuses in Annapolis, Maryland, and Santa Fe, New Mexico, as well as our distinctive great books curriculum to prospective undergraduate students.

The ultimate goal of the admissions team is to encourage intellectually curious and talented prospective students from diverse backgrounds to apply and enroll at St. John's.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop marketing content for various channels, including drip emails, mass emails, event emails, social media, and text messaging, to engage students throughout the admissions process.
