Whakaratoka me kā Whakariteka ā-Wahaka | Divisional Services and Administration is a team of highly skilled professionals responsible for delivering outstanding student and staff experiences through high quality, confidential secretarial and administrative support services. You will be part of a supportive administration division providing administrative services to the Sciences Divisional Office.

The role/Te mahi

As Administrator for the Sciences Divisional Office, you will be the friendly face and first point of contact, offering a warm, professional welcome to staff, students, and visitors alike. In this varied role, you’ll deliver comprehensive administrative support across the Division, assist Māori and Pacific student support teams to help foster an inclusive environment, and work closely with the Senior Administrator and Executive Assistant on a range of projects and tasks. You will also provide essential cover during staff shortages, manage office supplies, maintain systems, and keep the workspace organised. You will manage inquiries, arrange meetings, take minutes, coordinate travel, process transactional finance activities, and step in wherever needed to ensure the smooth running of the office.

Previous experience in an operational administration and/or customer service role.
Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, with ability to adapt and navigate new systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail.
Work proactively and supportively within a team to create a positive culture.
Commitment to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner and demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and Pasifika values.

This is a permanent full-time position (37.5 hours per week), located in Pōneke, Wellington.

The appointment range for this role is $65,281 to $69,648. (Top of Range $74,947).

We are also seeking candidates for Kaiwhakahaere Tari positions, which support the implementation of our Māori Strategic Framework. The salary range for this role is Level 5 $69,931 to $74,609. Top of Range $80,285.
