Administrative Support Officer - Legal Services
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Subpoena and Processing Officer (APS4 equivalent) within our Federal Government agency in Canberra. As a Subpoena and Processing Officer, you will be responsible for processing and managing a high-volume case load of matters such as subpoenas, court orders, summonses, information requests, etc. You will also operate under and utilise the Privacy Act 1+88 and other program-specific legislation in processing work. Additionally, you will interrogate Departmental databases to retrieve requested information, prepare the information in a readable format for the applicant, and draft the release letter before passing it to the relevant delegate for approval.
Key responsibilities include liaising with requesting agencies and stakeholders to clarify required information and establish compliance with legislative requirements, responding to Commonwealth information orders issued under the Family Law Act 1+75, and assisting and supporting agency staff who are required to give evidence in a court or tribunal matter.
The ideal candidate will have high levels of integrity, probity, and behavioural standards, as well as excellent time management and task prioritisation skills. They will also be able to exercise sound judgement and analytical skills, and work well under pressure.
