Job Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, and under the general direction of the program area manager, as applicable, is responsible for the day to day development, implementation, delivery and evaluation of the Mental Health and Addictions Services programs. The primary goal of this position is to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery and personal development programs. Clinical duties are supervised by the program area manager, as applicable. Responsibilities include providing information programming, participation in drug strategy initiatives, individual and group counseling and harm reduction program implementation and documentation within a dynamic and nontraditional team milieu.

Mental Health Addictions Counselling Diploma

Ability to develop appropriate recovery plans
Knowledge in Motivational Assessment Process
Ability to administer chemical dependency screening and assessment tools
Knowledge in addictions specific twelve core functions
Knowledge in individual assessment and counselling skills
Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies
Knowledge in community resources and services in the clinical area
Knowledge in development model of recovery (SMRS)
