Accounts Senior

This position is for an applicant that has recently outgrown what we would call a ‘semi-
senior’ role and is now confident in managing their own personal client base under the
supervision of a senior partner.

In brief, duties to include (but not a comprehensive list)


Preparation of accounts for both incorporated and unincorporated clients to partner
review stage 

Preparation of VAT returns and management accounts 
Preparation of corporation tax and income tax computations 
Ownership and management of your own client portfolio across a wide range of

industries 
Liaising with clients directly to ensure statutory compliance and general advice on a

variety of topics 
Training and development of accounts clerks on technical issues and quality review 
Active involvement in several internal team projects to assist the practice in its

ongoing growth and development. This is not an ‘accounts only’ position.

At Burton Beavan we appreciate that relevant experience is as important as relevant
qualifications. It is for this reason that we believe the ideal candidate will have at least 4
years experience working within an accountancy practice.

As this is a demanding role of a technical nature we are looking for a qualified Chartered
Certified (ACCA) or Chartered Accountant (ACA). We are also willing to consider
applicants with only ACCA professional level or ACA Advanced level exams remaining.

Proficiency in the use of Sage and IRIS is particularly advantageous, although not essential
as training and support will be available. A working knowledge of other accountancy
software packages such as Xero, FreeAgent Quickbooks is also desirable. Competency in
Microsoft Excel and Word is a prerequisite.

under pressure, to time constrai ned deadlines. Applicants should have the desire to develop
the necessary technical skills and competences to be able to support their colleagues in
providing an exceptional service to our clients and in doing so contribute to driving our
business forward.
