Job Profile
A Plant Fitter, also known as a Plant Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Fitter, is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing heavy machinery and equipment used in construction, mining, agriculture, or industrial plants. This role is crucial to ensuring machinery runs efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime.
A/c Mechanic Job Profile
Installation Setup
Install new A/C units (ductless, split systems, packaged units) and automotive A/C systems per manufacturer specs .
Preventive Maintenance
Perform routine inspections, clean coils and filters, check refrigerant levels, and lubricate components to ensure efficiency .
Troubleshooting Repair
Diagnose mechanical/electrical issues (compressors, thermostats, fans), repair or replace faulty parts, and test system performance
Safety Compliance
Handle refrigerants safely—obtain EPA Section 608 certification (Type I, II, III or Universal)—and comply with local codes and regulations
Record-Keeping
Maintain logs of services, parts used, refrigerant records, and diagnostic results for each job .
Customer Team Communication
Provide clear cost estimates, explain issues and solutions to customers, coordinate with teammates, and report project status to supervisors
Key Responsibilities
Inspect and diagnose faults in mechanical equipment.
Carry out routine maintenance and servicing (oil changes, filter replacements, etc.).
Operate diagnostic tools and testing equipment to ensure machinery functions correctly.
Keep maintenance records and write service reports.
Follow health and safety regulations when working on equipment.
Respond to breakdowns on-site and provide emergency repairs when needed.
Collaborate with engineers, site supervisors, and other tradespeople.

Strong mechanical and technical knowledge.
Problem-solving and fault-diagnosis ability.
Manual dexterity and physical stamina.
Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
